FACILITY ASSESSMENT

Before commencing to build new or remodel, it is important to clearly understand the current state of your existing facility. We tour your existing building(s) documenting the conditions we observe, then organize our findings in a report with recommended actions. We can assess your facility for:

  • major maintenance items to be addressed to preserve your building’s good condition and extend its life,

  • compliance with applicable building and life safety codes,

  • compliance with applicable accessibility standards such as ADA and ANSI,

  • current space utilization and ways to improve utilization.

It is important to know how such issues can affect your intended project, its budget, and its schedule.

PROGRAMMING

Successful projects result from a carefully conceived Program of Requirements.  We meet with you to discuss your project goals and how your strategic plan, operations, and projected growth translate into building and spatial needs.  We discuss the quantity of rooms/spaces required, room sizes and capacities, necessary adjacencies, required equipment, and desired qualitative features. The Program then guides our design work and serves as the basis to evaluate the quality and success of our design ideas.

MASTER PLANNING

Very often, development of a project does not happen all at once due to the cost of construction, uncertainty about future needs, or a wide variety of other reasons. Yet, it is important to know that the work completed today will still function effectively with later development and does not prematurely limit future opportunities. A well-conceived master plan can guide phased development to ensure long-term collective success. A master plan may be prepared to lead development of multiple buildings on a site or to guide the phased development of a single facility.

ARCHITECTURE

We design your new building to provide the required spaces and features to support occupants and your intended operations. We design your building to be beautiful and communicate your intended message to both occupants and the larger community. We consider appropriate materials and systems to build with, taking into account budget, building use, and intended life span. We can help move your project from concept to reality by preparing construction documents, administering contractor selection, assisting with obtaining building permits, and observing the construction.

CLASSICAL / TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE

All of our work is guided by Classical principles and design methodology, but many of our buildings are not Classical in appearance and detail. However, when you desire a truly Classical building, it is important your Architect has a thorough understanding of Classical proportioning systems and details, as well as how to design them utilizing contemporary materials and methods, otherwise the result can be less than authentic and beautiful. Our firm principal is educated and experienced in designing and constructing contemporary Classical buildings.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Our Interior Design team can develop a color and materials palette to reinforce your spiritual message and create the feeling you seek to evoke in the church-goer.  In doing so, our team considers the cost, durability, maintenance requirements, and cleanability of materials when selecting them. We can provide Interior Design services as part of a larger Architectural project, or independently.

LITURGICAL DESIGN

We design your liturgical furnishings to properly fit your church space and church style. We can design altars, tabernacles, baldachins, ambos, baptismal fonts, ambries, pews, and chairs; in stone, metal, or wood, then work with fabricators to ensure the pieces are made with the highest quality for longevity and beauty. We can also coordinate the work of leading liturgical arts studios to provide beautiful paintings, statues, and metalwork to further adorn your church.

FUNDRAISING SUPPORT

No project comes to fruition without the financial resources to make it happen. We work with church leadership, the Building Committee, Capital Campaign Committee, and/or Fundraising Consultant to support the fundraising campaign. We can provide presentation drawings, renderings, animations, and project facts to clearly illustrate the planned project that can be used in campaign materials. We are willing to participate in presentations about the proposed project as well.
