Luke Seymour grew up just north of Dallas, Texas and has always loved building things from the time he was young. When he was in first grade, Luke’s family had the opportunity to live in Paris, France, for a year. Being surrounded by some of the world’s greatest architecture on a daily basis during this time formed Luke greatly, albeit subconsciously. Luke’s family returned to Europe frequently, and he started considering architecture as a profession in early high school after falling in love with the great Gothic Cathedrals of France. Attending the University of Notre Dame’s Career Discovery in Architecture summer camp sealed Luke’s decision.
Luke received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the budding architecture program at Benedictine College in 2023 where he was a member of several programs of distinction and competed in Track and Field. At Benedictine, Luke was trained in the grand Beaux-Arts tradition of Classical Architecture with a heavy emphasis on hand-drawing and drafting, plein aire sketching, and formal watercolor and ink wash rendering. Luke continued his academic pursuits, earning his Master of Architecture degree with a classical concentration from the Catholic University of America, where he served as a teaching assistant, research assistant, and guest lecturer. Luke’s academic work has been published in The Classicist nos. 18, 19, 20, and 21 and was featured in the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art’s Students and Young Professionals Exhibition in 2023.
Luke has a passion for traditional architecture, especially in the realm of liturgical design, and wants to do his part to help restore a sense of beauty to a culture that has largely left it by the wayside. Outside of work, Luke enjoys playing basketball, watching (and quoting) movies, grilling out, and spending time with family. He resides in Topeka, Kansas with his beautiful wife and two young daughters. An interesting fact about Luke, he also possesses dual citizenship with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
